Our eco-friendly approach
For holidays that respect the environment
At Camping du Lac***, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact on a daily basis and to promoting practices that respect our exceptional natural surroundings. This approach is underpinned by a number of practical measures implemented across the entire site.
Waste sorting and recycling
To promote recycling, a recycling area has been set up for users.
Visitors can dispose of their rubbish in designated bins:
- Glass: bottles, jars and glass containers.
- Recyclable packaging (yellow bin): cardboard, paper, metal and plastic packaging, in accordance with current sorting guidelines.
- Household waste: non-recyclable waste.
This initiative encourages correct waste sorting throughout your stay and helps to protect our environment.
📍 The recycling point is located at the entrance to the campsite to make it easily accessible to all visitors.
Management and recycling of harmful waste with Clikeco for employees
As certain types of waste require specialised handling to prevent any risk to the environment and public health, we work with the specialist company Clikeco, which handles the collection and treatment of our hazardous waste.
A number of recycling and recovery schemes have been set up to:
- Empty paint tins.
- Containers that have been used to store biocides and cleaning products.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) contaminated with hazardous substances.
- Used printer cartridges.
- Other specific waste arising from the site’s technical and maintenance activities.
This rigorous management ensures that waste can be traced and is processed through approved channels, thereby minimising its impact on the environment.
Energy consumption management
As part of our policy to reduce energy consumption, several facilities at the campsite and leisure centre are fitted with motion detectors.
This system enables:
- To switch on the lights only when necessary.
- To minimise unnecessary consumption in high-traffic areas.
- To reduce the site’s overall electricity consumption.
- To reduce our carbon footprint whilst maintaining visitors’ comfort and safety.
This simple and effective solution contributes to a more responsible management of our energy resources.
Sustainable mobility: charging points for electric vehicles
To encourage more environmentally friendly modes of transport, two electric vehicle charging points have been installed in the car park at the Leisure Centre.
These stations are:
- Open to the visitors freely
- Can be paid for by credit card.
- Compatible with top-up cards designed for electric vehicles.
This infrastructure contributes to the development of sustainable mobility in our region and makes it easier to cater for users with electric vehicles.
Management and recycling of green waste
The maintenance of the green spaces is carried out in-house by the Leisure Centre’s technical teams.
Mowing, trimming, pruning and landscaping work generate green waste, which is managed in a specific way.
To do this:
- A skip specifically for green waste is available on site.
- Grass clippings, twigs, leaves and garden waste are collected here.
- Regular collections are organised to ensure that they are recycled through appropriate channels.
This approach helps to preserve the site’s landscape quality whilst ensuring the responsible management of waste generated by the maintenance of natural areas.
A daily commitment
These initiatives form part of a comprehensive programme of continuous improvement aimed at protecting our environment, raising our visitors’ awareness of eco-friendly practices and contributing to the sustainable development of our region. Every little helps, and we are continuing our efforts to make our site ever more respectful of the natural environment around it. 🌿♻️
